Level Up Your Perks Program With An NFT

Remember a few weeks ago when we said a loyalty program would be an easy way for businesses to utilize NFT tech and reward their top customers? Hang, a web3 membership company, is doing just that.

Hang helps companies launch NFT memberships that unlock perks, benefits, and status for members in their community. They make it easy to build the contract that the NFT will live on (without using code), create customizable mint pages that can be scaled (so that the masses can get it), and give businesses the tools to set up an NFT rewards program with ease.

“For most brands at a certain scale, it’s pretty hard to offset increasing customer acquisition costs...The best way to do that is by increasing the lifetime value of their user base and harnessing loyalty”

Matt Smolin, Co-Founder @ Hang

Who's building with Hang?

Superfly - Superfest NFT gives members access to a first-of-its-kind member-planned music and arts festival.

Concepts - Proof of CNCPTS NFT gives members access to exclusive apparel, collaborations, and in-person events.

EveryRealm - Fantasy Islands 100 NFT gives members access to specific land parcels in the metaverse.

Budweiser and Bleacher Report are also using the service to create membership NFTs.

Takeaway →

As Matt said, customer acquisition is becoming harder and more expensive. NFT programs like these are a great way to offset this cost. We think that these programs are a fun and easy way to give back to your current customers, increase the lifetime total value of those customers, and increase overall customer loyalty.

Speaking Of Perks Programs...

Twisted Tea is using NFTs for a perks program of their own. It's more of a sweepstakes than a perks program, but this transition felt way too good to not be used.

The Sweepstakes

If you submit a picture of you with a Twisted Tea, you'll get the chance to win the first-ever Twisted Tea NFT and get your picture on the back of 100 million cans of Twisted Tea. After that, you can sell the NFT on the open market. Whoever is holding the NFT on select dates in the future gets to have their photo on cans as well. Learn more here.

What we think of this →

First of all, I'm definitely going to do this. I don't even like Twisted Tea, but getting my mug on 100 million cans would be a campfire story for the ages.

On a more serious note, we love how Twisted Tea is using NFT tech. This is a GREAT introductory project for the company. It will encourage people to try out the tech if they've never done it before. The idea of the competition is great too. We think this is going to be a excellent way for them to drive sales, involve the Twisted Tea community, and have fun!

Dan Harmon's Newest TV Show Has NFT Integrations

If you don't know Dan Harmon, he's the witty writer behind the Rick & Morty adult cartoon series. His new show, Krapopolis, is an animated comedy set in mythical ancient Greece centered on a flawed family of humans, gods, and monsters that tries to run one of the world’s first cities without killing each other.

So... how are they using NFTs? →

Good question. The show's first NFT collection is called Krap Chickens (LOL).

D - DAO

Woohoo! Time for more learning! This week's term is DAO. DAO stands for a Decentralized Autonomous Organization.

Uh, what's that?→

Think of a DAO like the new LLC. LLCs typically have a top-down org chart, CEO and all. DAOs are a decentralized structure where everyone has an equal say in the decision-making process. Currently, there are all kinds of DAOs. There's even one that is trying to buy an NBA team!
